Lebanon’s military announced that it has discovered in the south of the country the launch pads of rocket launchers used to target Israel early this morning, which responded by bombing southern Beirut.

In a statement, the army said it had “located the site of the rocket launch in the Qaqayat al-Jisr area”, which is just north of the northern boundary of the Litani River, from where Hezbollah should withdraw, about 30 kilometres from the border with Israel.

He added that “an investigation has been launched to determine the perpetrators of the launch” of the missiles, for which there is no claim of responsibility.

Earlier, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that “everything indicates that Hezbollah is not responsible” for the latest rocket launches into Israel.
