Plakias to Famelio regarding Genidounias’ dismissal: “If you knew his role, you wouldn’t make such statements”

"Shame!" says the father of two victims of the Tempi tragedy — "If he knew the problems and issues of so many years, why didn't he resign immediately after the crime?"

Newsroom May 1 06:18

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nikos Plakias, father of two victims of the Tempi disaster, responded harshly to SYRIZA’s president, Sokratis Famelio, accusing him of political opportunism regarding the dismissal of Kostas Genidounias from Hellenic Train.

Mr. Plakias addressed Famelio personally, writing: “Maybe @SFamellos, you’re not fully informed. If he knew the problems and issues of so many years, why didn’t he resign immediately after the crime (i.e., Kostas Genidounias)? Why did he stay in his position? And was still being paid by the murderers of my children? There’s a lot of money involved, Sokratis!!!”

Continuing his post, Mr. Plakias accused the SYRIZA MP of using his position for political gain: “But your position also suits you to be used for political benefits. Shame!!! If you knew the role of this person in the Tempi crime, you would be ashamed to make such statements. A ‘laundry’ for Spirtzis? A ‘laundry’ for Genidounias too? From me, no one will get a blank check.”
