Vassilis Kikilias: No ticket increases this summer

Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Vassilis Kikilias in an interview with Open referred to the prices of shipping tickets during the summer season, the port projects underway in Greece and the issue of illegal immigration.

“Now, we have a 50% reduction in port charges in all ports in the country and this is being passed on to reductions in tickets accordingly, which equates to an increase first of all for all conventional ships, not only for these days but for the whole period until the end of the year. As far as the high-speed ships are concerned, in the coming days the bidders and the companies will make announcements that will have to do with reductions and discount packages for the Greek family,” he noted initially.

“Let the Brussels paperhangers and so-called humanitarians get their act together. They think guarding the European borders – which is also Greece’s – is a walk in the park. The Coast Guard will always be there, the men and women of the Corps are risking their lives. The message to these NGOs involved in bizarre cases and the so-called humanitarians who are comfortable in their chalets north of Switzerland, Austria, Germany and so on: To collect everything they say about our country, the Coast Guard and the superhuman effort that the Security Forces and the Armed Forces are making for our maritime borders. We will not accept anyone wagging a finger at us when their policies have failed miserably,” Kikilias stressed on the migration issue.
