The Prime Minister, after a meeting at the Ministry of Health, visited the hospital together with Adonis Georgiadis, where the pilot program for digital patient tracking in the Emergency Department is being implemented.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the General Hospital of Athens “Evangelismos,” where he had the opportunity to be informed by the hospital director, Tasos Grigopoulos, about the implementation of the pilot project for tracking cases in the Emergency Department, which was launched last week.

Accompanied by the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, the Prime Minister spoke with staff and patients and was briefed on the stages each citizen follows: from issuing an individual ticket at the patient movement office to the triage office, where each case is classified into one of five severity categories and then referred to the appropriate doctor with corresponding priority.

All stops and examinations are recorded on a paper tracker given to the patient at the movement office, enabling doctors and nurses to have uninterrupted access to the complete picture of the patient’s condition, the approved medical procedures, and the medication administered.

At the same time, mapping all movements allows for both reducing waiting times for each patient and improving the services provided to citizens by collecting real data in the field.

The tracking system is scheduled to expand to an additional 14 public hospitals by mid-July and to a total of 100 hospitals by January 2026.
