A lighthouse is Banksy’s new enigmatic work – Mystery of its location

Next to the artist's work is the phrase: "I want to be what you saw in me"

Newsroom May 30 10:00

A new graffiti by famed artist Banksy has been revealed via Instagram, sparking new waves of speculation and questions, not only about the message it bears, but also about its whereabouts.

The work depicts a lighthouse on a beige wall. Beside it, the phrase “I want to be what you saw in me” can be seen, but the location remains unknown.

Although a second photo shows two people walking their dogs, it offers no clues as to their whereabouts. Social media users speculate that the project may be located in Marseille, in southern France. Others focus on the meaning of the phrase and the metaphorical dimension of the lighthouse’s shadow.

As always, confirmation of authenticity is exclusively via Banksy’s official Instagram account, as his identity has remained a closely guarded secret for years.

Although many of his works have a strong political content, with references to immigration, the war in Ukraine, or the homeless, there are also those of a more enigmatic nature.
