The intervention of the head of the prosecutor’s official prosecutor’s office of Athens, Aristides Koreas, was prompted by today’s revealing report by protothema.gr on the unauthorized luxury bungalows that sprang up “overnight” inside the National Park of Schinias, a purely forested area, which has been designated a Natura.

The photos that accompanied the report show the arbitrary bungalows that have been built in the forest of Schinias, just 30 meters from the sea.

On the occasion of the protothema.gr release, the head of the Athens Prosecutor’s Office gave an order for conducting a preliminary examination and even an urgent one. The preliminary investigation will investigate the possible commission of criminal and misdemeanor acts, including the impermissible change of use of forest land through the erection of buildings and the illegal electrification of a building in a forest area.

Finally, it should be noted that the order to conduct the preliminary examination was given to the sub-directorate of the Protection of Property Rights of Cultural Heritage and Environment of the National Police.
