Glykeria trapped in Israel amid conflict with Iran: How and when she plans to return to Greece

Greek singer Glykeria remains stranded in Israel due to the ongoing military conflict with Iran. The popular artist had traveled to Israel for her scheduled concert on June 17 as part of the Meridiano Festival in Ashdod—a multi-day international event that has sparked controversy back home in Greece

Newsroom June 16 06:10

According to reports from protothema.gr, Glykeria and her team are in good health and remain safe despite the escalating violence. However, they are directly experiencing the anxiety and fear that comes with being in an active war zone. Since the outbreak of hostilities, they have remained confined to their hotel. Each time air raid sirens sound, they quickly move to designated bomb shelters to ensure their safety.

With Israeli airspace closed for security reasons in recent days, Glykeria, like thousands of Israelis and foreign visitors, has been left with no immediate means of evacuation. The Greek artist has been forced to wait for conditions to change before being able to leave the country.
