Smoke signal in the cockpit of an aircraft requesting an emergency landing at El. Venizelos – Planes grounded at the airport

Airbus aircraft informed about the presence of smoke in the cockpit and immediately requested a runway in Athens - Authorities on standby

An alarm has been sounded at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport after an emergency alert was sent by an Airbus aircraft for smoke in the cockpit.

According to ERT, the crew of the aircraft contacted the control tower of Athens International Airport, requesting the possibility of an immediate emergency landing.

Carpatair flight #BTI612 declared an emergency and returned to Athens Airport immediately after takeoff. On the ground, the A319 is being followed by multiple ground vehicles, including at least one ambulance
