The Risk Assessment Committee met due to high temperatures and strengthening winds over the weekend

The Risk Assessment Committee was convened this morning by Nikos Papaevstathiou, the Secretary General of Civil Protection, due to high temperatures and strengthening winds over the weekend.

According to the commission’s scientists, today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday, moderate intensity, with temperatures:

– In the afternoon and evening hours on the mainland, 39 to 41 degrees, and on the islands, 36 to 38 degrees.

– During the night, temperatures are expected to reach 26 to 28 degrees and in Attica, locally 30 degrees.

– At the weekend, the heat wave is expected to subside, while the northern winds will increase, on Saturday in the Aegean, locally 7 Beaufort and on Sunday in the Cyclades, Crete, the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, 8 to gusts of 9 Beaufort.
