The highly anticipated third and final season of Squid Game has taken the world by storm, smashing records and landing at #1 on Netflix in every country globally.

According to Tudum—Netflix’s official site for platform-related news—this marks the first time in history a series has achieved such global dominance during its premiere week.

Premiering on June 27, Squid Game Season 3 garnered an impressive 60.1 million views within just three days, setting a new record for the most views for a series over that period.

The explosive success of Seasons 2 and 3 has also made Squid Game the only series to enter Netflix’s list of most popular shows during its first week.

The return of Lee Jung-jae as Player 456 earned widespread acclaim, with critics calling it “one of the greatest TV performances of all time.” Season 3 quickly climbed Netflix’s charts to become the ninth most-watched non-English language series in the platform’s history.

Remarkably, the first two seasons of Squid Game also returned to the Top 10 for non-English series last week. Season 2 ranked #3 with 2.8 million views, while Season 1 took the #6 spot with 1.7 million views, solidifying Hwang Dong-hyuk’s Korean survival drama as the biggest television phenomenon in the world.
