The star was found dead in his Malibu home

Newsroom July 3 09:53

Actor Michael Madsen has passed away at the age of 67, according to a report by The Sun. The Reservoir Dogs star was found dead in his home in Malibu on the morning of Thursday, July 3rd.

Michael Madsen was especially well known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s films, including Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Reservoir Dogs, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which helped establish his reputation as one of Hollywood’s quintessential “tough guys.”

Police officers from Los Angeles County responded to a 911 call at his Malibu residence Thursday morning. According to authorities, Madsen appears to have died of natural causes, with no suspicion of foul play. His manager, Ron Smith, stated that the actor died of cardiac arrest.

A statement from his representatives said that Madsen had recently been working with independent directors and was “looking forward to this new chapter in his life,” according to his manager. Unfortunately, he did not live to see that dream realized.

The statement added:
“Over the past two years, Michael Madsen did incredible work in the indie film world, including the upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was genuinely excited for this next phase of his career.”
Madsen was also preparing to release a new book titled Tears for My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.

Family Life

Madsen leaves behind five children. From 1984 to 1988, he was married to Georganne LaPiere, the half-sister of singer and actress Cher, though they had no children together.

He later married Jeannine Bisignano (1991–1995), with whom he had two sons, Christian and Max. In 1996, he married DeAnna Morgan, and they had three sons: Luke, Calvin, and Hudson. Tragically, Hudson died by suicide in 2021 at the age of 26.
