Mitsotakis on six years of ND government: ‘I remain determined to honour the trust for a stronger Greece’

"I take strength from the moments when all Greeks felt proud, but I also remember the difficult moments. I do not shirk responsibility, I am always here, trying to do my best," the Prime Minister stressed

A video marking six years of the New Democracy government was posted on social media by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who says he is “equally determined” to honor the trust of citizens for a “stronger Greece” and “a better life for every Greek.”

“I see this photo from the first inauguration, exactly six years ago. The hair may have turned grey, but I am more experienced and certainly just as determined to honour the trust you have placed in me,” the prime minister begins in his video.

“On 8 July 2019, you entrusted me with the position of Prime Minister of Greece, and every day in this office, I remember how grateful I am and how heavy the responsibility is. A lot has changed since then, we have experienced unprecedented situations, the world has become more unstable and more dangerous, but Greece has become better, the economy is growing dynamically, half a million jobs have been created, our children are no longer leaving their homeland but returning to Greece, the armed forces are constantly being strengthened, the revenues from growth and the fight against tax evasion are being used to support those who need it most. The digitization of the state improves our daily life, and we will do even more”, added Mitsotakis.

He assures that “in my heart and mind are always the expectations, the exhortations, the hopes of the many people I have met throughout this journey. I know that much still needs to change in our country, and I will continue to fight for it”

“I take strength from the moments when all Greeks felt proud. From the international recognition of the progress we have made, but I also remember the difficult moments, the tragedies that filled us with pain, crises that tested us, I do not shirk responsibility, I am always here, trying for the best. I will continue to serve this goal with all my strength: A Greece stronger, fairer, more modern, and a better life for every Greek and for every Greek and we will achieve it steadily, step by step,” concludes Kyriakos Mitsotakis
