The Kremlin says that US shipments of arms and ammunition to Ukraine continue

"Now, it seems that these supplies will be paid for by Europe, some will pay for them, some will not," Dmitry Peskov told reporters, asked about Trump's statements

Newsroom July 14 02:40

The Kremlin said today that the broader picture of the US president’s comments Donald Trump on the supply of Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine is that deliveries of U.S. weapons and ammunition to Kiev have continued and will continue.

Trump did not say how many Patriots he plans to send to Ukraine, but said the US would be reimbursed for their costs by the European Union.

“Now, it seems that these supplies will be paid for by Europe, some will pay for them, some will not,” Dmitry Peskov told reporters when asked about Trump’s statements. “The fact remains that the supply of weapons, ammunition and military equipment by the US has continued and continues in Ukraine.”

Trump is expected to announce a new plan to arm Ukraine with defensive weapons, in a sharp shift from his previous stance, US news website Axios reported yesterday, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Peskov said Kiev is apparently in no hurry for a third round of peace talks, adding that Russia is ready for such negotiations and is waiting for clarifications on the timeline from Ukraine.
