Newsroom August 6 03:06

A warm pattern will dominate the weather over the next few days, with temperatures remaining typical for this time of year. This trend is expected to continue into August.

Daytime highs will hover around 35°C, with the potential for a more intense heatwave on the horizon—though it’s still too soon to confirm whether it will materialize.

Today, Wednesday (August 6, 2025), expect cloudy skies with local showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Ionian Islands and parts of the mainland. Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from the west by afternoon. Elsewhere, skies will start mostly clear, becoming partly cloudy from midday, with the chance of local showers in Crete and isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the northeastern Aegean.

Winds will blow from the north at 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 at sea. In the northern Aegean, winds will strengthen during the evening to 7 Beaufort and possibly 8 in some areas.

Temperatures will remain steady, reaching 30–32°C on the islands and 33–34°C on the mainland.

The weather will be mostly clear across the country. Localized showers are expected in mountainous areas of Crete early in the day, and over the northern mainland during the afternoon.
