The 74-year-old swimmer, who had been missing since noon on Thursday, was found unconscious by a Coast Guard patrol boat on a rocky shore in Asteria Glyfada.

According to ERT, the elderly woman was retrieved with the assistance of members of the Coast Guard and the Greek Coast Guard and transported by private lifeboat to the beach of Voula.

She was then taken by an ambulance vehicle of the ambulance service and transported to the General Hospital Asclepion Voula, where her death was confirmed.
