On Wednesday, August 13, after Volodymyr Zelensky‘s discussions with representatives of European countries, Donald Trump will hold a teleconference with European leaders and the Ukrainian president, according to information cited by NBC News. US Vice President J.D. Vance will also participate in the same conversation.

Same sources say that after the call with the US president, a new round of talks between Zelensky and the broader coalition of countries supporting Kiev will follow. This coalition includes, in addition to European states, Britain and Canada. Trump and Vance will not participate in this second conference call.

The Aug. 13 communication is considered preparatory ahead of President Trump’s scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which is set for Aug. 15 in Alaska.

On August 8, the US president had said he expected to meet Putin, and shortly afterwards the Russian president’s adviser, Yuri Ushakov, confirmed the date and location of the meeting. Ushakov said the talks would focus on proposals to reach a long-term peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
