The “Queen of Ketamine” has admitted her guilt in the death of Matthew Perry

After the death of the "Friends" actor, four more people have been charged including doctors and Perry's assistant

Newsroom August 19 11:28

The “Ketamine Queen” drug dealer who supplied the lethal dose that killed “Friends” star Matthew Perry has agreed to plead guilty to several federal charges related to the actor’s death.

Jaswyn Sanga, 42, agreed to plead guilty to one count of maintaining a drug-related premises, three counts of distributing ketamine and one count of distributing ketamine that resulted in death or serious bodily injury, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced Monday.

Sanga, who has dual US and UK citizenship, is accused of supplying the actor with lethal doses through his personal assistant and is now the fifth person to admit involvement in the case.

The 54-year-old actor was found dead in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, and ketamine was the primary cause of death, according to the coroner.

After Perry’s death, four other people were indicted on serious drug charges, including 55-year-old San Diego doctor Mark Chavez, who pleaded guilty in October 2024 to conspiracy to distribute ketamine. He could be sentenced to 10 years in prison at his sentencing in September.

Eric Fleming, 55, pleaded guilty in August 2024 to charges related to distribution of ketamine and faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in November.

Perry’s assistant, 60-year-old Kenneth Ivamasa, gave the actor the fatal dose of ketamine and also pleaded guilty in August 2024 to conspiracy to distribute ketamine that caused death. He faces up to 15 years in prison following his sentencing in November.

It should be noted that just days ago Dr. Salvador Placencia, the doctor who was the main target of the sprawling investigation into actor Matthew Perry’s overdose death, pleaded guilty to administering ketamine despite knowing about his battle with addiction.
