Weather: Rising temperatures, few showers – Cooler weekend ahead

Today’s forecast: Mostly clear skies, with temporarily increased cloud cover during midday and afternoon hours over central and northern mainland areas, mainly mountainous regions, where a few local showers may occur. Localized morning fog in the west and north.

Winds: Light and variable in the west, shifting to westerly 3–4 Beaufort in the afternoon. In the east, variable 3–4 Beaufort, while in the Aegean northerly winds will blow at 4–5 and locally up to 6 Beaufort.

Temperatures: Slightly rising. Inland areas will reach 31–33°C, locally 34–35°C in the east. Ionian islands, eastern Aegean, Dodecanese, and Crete: 29–31°C, locally 32°C. Cyclades: 28–29°C.

Attica: Generally clear with variable winds 3–4 Beaufort. Temperatures 20–32/33°C.
Thessaloniki: A few temporary clouds midday–afternoon. Winds variable 3–4 Beaufort. Temperatures 20–30/31°C.

Thursday: Mostly clear, with clouds developing gradually from the west. Showers and isolated thunderstorms possible in northern Ionian and mainland areas, mainly in the north. Winds: variable, becoming W–NW 3–5 Beaufort in the west; N 3–5 Beaufort in the east, locally 6 in the Aegean. Temperatures rising: inland 33–35°C, locally 36°C in the east; Ionian, eastern Aegean, Dodecanese, Crete 32–34°C; Cyclades 29–30°C.

Sunday: In the northwest, increasing clouds from midday with local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms. Elsewhere mostly clear with some inland clouds in the afternoon, bringing local mountain showers. Winds: W–NW 3–4 Beaufort, strengthening in the Ionian up to 6 in the evening; in the east, northerly 4–6, locally 7 in the Aegean. Temperatures stable.
