A major police operation is underway since early Tuesday morning, conducted by the Financial Crimes Division of the Greek Police (DAOE), targeting a criminal organization involved in tax fraud.

According to preliminary reports, the group engaged in fraudulent activities involving VAT refunds from commercial transactions, along with income tax withholding violations.

So far, 17 individuals have been arrested, including professionals in the sector such as accountants. Authorities have already seized at least €500,000 in cash.
