Hôtel Grande Bretagne was named the top hotel in Greece at the Condé Nast Traveller Awards 2025

The readers of the British magazine named the historic Athens hotel as their favourite in Europe, confirming the timeless value of Greek hospitality

Newsroom October 9 02:36

The historic Athens hotel Hôtel Grande Bretagne has been named the top hotel in Greece by the readers of the British edition of Condé Nast Traveller magazine, winning first place in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, in the category Our Readers’ Favourite Hotels in Europe.

This distinction is particularly significant as it comes from the votes of thousands of travellers, who once again recognised the exceptional quality of service and the iconic character of the historic hotel. Hotel Great Britain has been repeatedly honoured by the institution in previous years, confirming the constant preference and trust of its international guests. Greek hospitality as a whole shone again this year as one of the top global destinations.

Condé Nast Traveller gathered more than 182,500 entries from UK readers who rated their travel experiences around the world, highlighting destinations they look forward to visiting again.

With decades of history and prestige, the Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most respected institution in travel and hospitality, a symbol of excellence and trust for the international travel community.

Hotel General Manager, Hom Parviz, says: “This recognition from the readers of Condé Nast Traveller is a great honour for the entire team at Hotel Great Britain. It reflects our consistency, passion and dedication to deliver a hospitality experience worthy of this hotel’s history and our guests’ expectations.”
