An investigation has been launched by the Hellenic Police into a video showing officer Elena Bobou firing indiscriminately.

In the video, which was aired by a midday TV show, the officer loads her weapon, points it upwards, and fires more than 10 times while at a celebration.

According to a statement from the Hellenic Police, the video is already being examined by the responsible department regarding both its authenticity and the time and place it was recorded.

Elena Bobou is the officer who, months ago, had publicly claimed in an online video that she was assaulted by her former partner, who is also a police officer, during a night out at an entertainment venue.

In other statements, she also mentioned that this individual was behind complaints filed against her within the Police Force, alleging luxury trips to Dubai.

The case, in addition to criminal proceedings, triggered internal disciplinary processes, as after her assault complaint, her former partner was suspended and surrendered his service weapon.
