Police officers from the Thessaloniki Traffic Police Directorate arrested two drivers during recent targeted checks for speeding within a residential area.
According to a police announcement, in the first case the arrest was made for driving at 128 km/h instead of the permitted 50 km/h in a residential area. The corresponding fine was imposed and the driver’s license was suspended for two months.
Arrest for dangerous driving
In the second case, the arrest concerned dangerous driving involving show-off maneuvers, causing fear and concern among other road users and citizens. In addition, the appropriate fine was imposed and the driver’s license was suspended for one year.
Furthermore, authorities recorded 44 violations related to speeding, 8 violations for excessive noise and modified exhaust systems, and 18 violations for various other traffic offenses.
