Drone attack on Greek-owned tankers in the Black Sea

These are the Delta Harmony managed by the Greek Delta Tankers and the Matilda managed by the Greek Thenamaris

Newsroom January 13 12:51

Two tankers of Greek interests were reportedly targeted in a drone attack on Black Sea, in a sea area near the port of Novorossiysk, in the early hours of Tuesday (13/03).

This was the Delta Harmony oil tanker operated by Greek Delta Tankers, according to LSEG, and was expected to load oil from Tengizchevroil, as well as the Matilda oil tanker operated by Greek Thenamaris, and was expected to load oil from Karachaganak, the sources added.

So far, it is unclear whether the operation was carried out by aerial drones, maritime drones or a combination of the two.

Early reports indicate that a fire broke out on the Delta Harmony, which, according to the same reports, was quickly brought under control with no further extension.
