Karachalios responds to Karystianou: She is a serial liar, I have 600 messages, Gratsia and the elderly woman have “bewitched” her

“Gratsia is the leader of this sect. I saw Karystianou 6–7 times; I have 600 messages from a WhatsApp group,” claimed Nikos Karachalios

Newsroom January 13 04:39

Nikos Karachalios responded in high tones to Maria Karystianou, following her statement that “he should be examined by a psychiatrist.” Speaking on Tuesday morning, Mr. Karachalios said that Maria Karystianou is a serial liar and a mythomaniac, that she has created a madhouse-like situation, that she has been “bewitched” by Maria Gratsia and the elderly woman, and he also spoke of a “sect.”

“If it took her three months to diagnose that something is wrong with my judgment, then I will say that something is wrong with her own judgment—both politically and medically. I understand what she is going through at the moment: the pain from the death of her child, the isolation from relatives because not even her husband speaks to her, the drop in the polls,” Mr. Karachalios initially said on ANT1.

He also hinted at mental instability with regard to Maria Karystianou, saying: “Mythomania is not psychosis; it is a disorder. Someone who constantly lies is a mythomaniac. Maria Karystianou constantly lies, and until today we were excusing her.”

He added: “I looked up what it means to say ‘you need a psychiatrist,’ which implies you are mentally ill, and I found three answers: you don’t think logically, you don’t listen to anyone, and you’ve lost all sense of proportion. Maria has all three: she doesn’t listen to relatives who tell her to resign, she has lost all sense of proportion and wants to become prime minister, even though she doesn’t know basic things about politics or even the Constitution, and she doesn’t think logically.”

He also called on her “to retract because she made a personal attack, whereas I speak with evidence,” claiming that “Gratsia is the leader of this sect.”

Regarding Ms. Karystianou’s claim that they met only two or three times, Nikos Karachalios replied that “we had six or seven one-on-one meetings. She is a serial liar; she said she would not form a party and she did.”

He further claimed that “if it is not a violation of personal data, I will air the WhatsApp messages so we can see whether they were about going to the cinema or about organizing rallies. I have 600 messages not only from Ms. Karystianou, but also from Ms. Gratsia and the astrologer from Harvard. In the group were Gratsia, Nikolopoulos, Kyriakos Tombras, the head of the ‘Ypervasi’ movement, and at times Mr. Michalis Patsikas. The group was created by Mr. Karystianou, and when he left after an intense disagreement with Nikolopoulos and Tombras over the lawsuit and criminal complaint he filed against Ms. Papandreou and Ms. Kövesi, he made me the administrator.”

“This woman has been bewitched by Gratsia and the elderly woman; they trapped her with astrological charts, and she lies to cover up her mistakes. She has created a madhouse situation, driven relatives crazy, driven all of us crazy,” Nikos Karachalios concluded.
