More than six arrests for racketeering, tax evasion, robbery, and more have been made by a 56-year-old “businessman” who was found to have two pistols with two magazines and a folding pocketknife in his car.
The man, who was using a fake driver’s license, was arrested on Tuesday night (13/1) in Paleo Faliro when officers of the IS Team deemed the movement of his car and checked him.
According to information from protothema.gr, the 56-year-old is not the first time that the authorities have been concerned. On the contrary, as is evident from his criminal past, it is one of his “habits”; something that is clearly reflected in the long list below:
In 1997, a case was filed against him for robbery and attempted extortion as he allegedly demanded payment of cheques at gunpoint, and in 1998, he was arrested for a health code violation.
In October 2001, he was arrested on a conviction for conspiracy to commit attempted extortion, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and conspiracy to commit aggravated serious bodily injury and aggravated unlawful carrying of a firearm.
In July 2005, a case was filed against him for insulting, threatening, and using weapons. The accused got into an argument in the street and threatened the other with a pistol.
In March 2013, he was arrested for tax evasion and a conviction for a KOC. In April of that year, he was arrested by extortion officers for possession of firearms. Following a prosecutor’s order, his house was searched, and cartridges were found.
A few months later, in June 2013, a case was filed against him for gang racketeering and attempted racketeering in conspiracy. He allegedly went with others for financial disputes as a presence.
In February 2014, he was arrested for resisting arrest, insubordination, and making a false anonymous statement after a check at his store during which he gave false information and then hid in the premises.
In 2015, he was convicted of forgery, and three years later, in 2018, he was arrested for tax evasion.
In September 2024, a case was filed against him for robbery. He entered a house, saying he was from the PPC, and threatened an elderly woman by extracting gold jewellery.
