Police authorities have fully solved the case of a large cannabis plantation in Rethymno following a months-long, targeted investigation by the Heraklion Security Department.
In total, four Greek nationals were arrested, aged 35, 26, and two aged 29, with the first two being brothers. According to the investigation, the four suspects jointly cultivated a cannabis plantation consisting of approximately 80 plants.
The plantation was discovered in October 2025 in the Vryses area of Amari, in the Municipality of Amari, and the case was subsequently subjected to an in-depth investigation by the competent authorities.
According to a new statement by the Hellenic Police, the ongoing investigation by the Narcotics Division of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate revealed that the 35-year-old suspect was also trafficking quantities of cocaine in areas of the Municipality of Amari.
Specifically, he is alleged to have carried out at least 27 cocaine sales to four men between September 2 and September 21, 2025.
The case file includes a total of eight men, aged between 18 and 41, who are charged—depending on their involvement—with cultivating cannabis plants and with the trafficking and supply of narcotics.
The four arrested individuals, two originating from Amari and two from Zoniana, are expected to be brought before the competent judicial and investigative authorities, while investigations are continuing into their possible involvement in other cases.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Narcotics Division of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate, in cooperation with the corresponding service of the Rethymno Security Sub-Directorate.
