U.S. President Donald Trump said today that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem – whose resignation is being demanded by the opposition – will remain in her position, judging that she has done a “very good job.”
“No,” the Republican president responded firmly to a journalist who asked if Noem would leave her post.
Trump also described the death of a second American protester from federal agents’ gunfire on Saturday in Minneapolis as “very sad.”
Although he did not adopt the term “murderer,” which his advisor Stephen Miller had used to describe 37-year-old Alex Praeti – the man shot and killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents – Donald Trump stated that the victim should not have been armed during the protest.
Specifically, when asked by journalists whether he considered Alex Praeti to have acted like a “murderer,” the U.S. president replied negatively but added that “he should not have appeared with a weapon” at a protest, calling it a “very unfortunate incident.”
