The course of Greek–American relations, as well as the preparation of the 6th round of the Athens–Washington Strategic Dialogue, which is expected to take place in the Greek capital, were at the center of a telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his American counterpart, Marco Rubio.
According to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion reaffirmed the “excellent level” of Greece–U.S. relations, while organizational and substantive issues were examined in view of the upcoming Strategic Dialogue meeting.
At the same time, international and regional developments in the broader Middle East region were discussed, with particular emphasis on the situation in Gaza.
Mr. Gerapetritis reiterated Greece’s commitment to actively contribute to the promotion of peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.
