Traffic restrictions on Attiki Odos due to works – carriageway towards the Airport closed from Elefsina to Aigaleo

The traffic measures will remain in force until Monday morning – traffic will be diverted via Athens Avenue and Kifisos

The Attiki Odos will remain closed towards the Airport from Elefsina to Aigaleo until 06:00 on Monday, 16 February, due to emergency maintenance works in the Liosion Tunnel.

Until that time, the entrance ramps from the interchanges of Mandra, Magoula, Aspropyrgos and Aigaleo will also remain closed.

Traffic heading to Athens International Airport will be diverted via Athens Avenue, Kifisos Avenue (towards Lamia) and then through the Metamorfosi interchange. Drivers are urged to exercise particular caution and follow the posted road signs.

Traffic in the direction towards Elefsina is operating normally.

Police announcement (summary)

Following the extension of the emergency maintenance works in the Liosion Tunnel, the complete closure of the following entrance ramps to Attiki Odos, in the direction towards the Airport, within the municipalities of Mandra–Eidyllia, Elefsina, Aspropyrgos and Fyli, will continue until 06:00 on 16/02/2026:

  • Mandra (Interchange 1)
  • Magoula (Interchange 2)
  • Aspropyrgos (Interchange 4)
  • Aigaleo (Interchange 5)

Traffic diversions during the closures:

  • Towards Athens city centre: via Athens Avenue
  • Towards Lamia: via Athens Avenue and Kifisos Avenue (towards Lamia)
  • Towards the Airport: via Athens Avenue, Kifisos Avenue (towards Lamia) and the Metamorfosi interchange

Drivers are asked to be particularly cautious when passing through the work zones and to strictly follow the existing road signage.
