Meeting between the leadership of the Ministry of Justice and the FBI to strengthen cooperation

Strengthening cooperation between the Greek Ministry of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on issues of mutual interest was the focus of a meeting held by Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis and Deputy Minister of Justice Ioannis Bougas with FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey, in the presence of his associates and representatives of the Embassy of the United States in Greece.

Among the key topics discussed were opportunities for cooperation in the training of judges, prosecutors, and investigative authorities, through the exchange of expertise, training programs, and targeted educational initiatives.

Mr. Floridis emphasized the strategic importance of close institutional cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of criminal justice and to address modern forms of crime, noting that “the exchange of best practices contributes substantially to strengthening the rule of law.”

For his part, FBI Deputy Director Mr. Bailey expressed his appreciation for the level of cooperation developed to date and reiterated the FBI’s willingness to support initiatives that enhance interoperability and the operational readiness of the competent authorities.

Finally, both sides agreed to maintain a systematic channel of communication, with the aim of further deepening bilateral relations in the fields of justice and crime prevention.
