Tsipras appeared apologetic and annoyed during the debate

He defended the agreement made between his government and Greece’s lenders

Newsroom September 10 10:09

During last night’s debate SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras tried to look confident for his choices and more experienced. He defended the agreement made between his government and Greece’s lenders, which he called a better than those signed by former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, admitting, though, that it was a painful but necessary compromise.

Mr. Tsipras promised to make tough negotiations for the open issues, something that Evangelos Meimarakis is not capable to do, as he said.

He also supported the migration policy applied by his government appearing very annoyed about the criticism Tasia Christodoulopoulou faces, as well as education policy supporting the choices and actions of Aristides Baltas.

Mr. Tsipras insisted on the changes in the television field and on the tender to be announced for TV frequencies denouncing the favorable treatment channels had received from previous government and non-compliance with the law and regulations.

Referring to election stake, he raised the question “Who is more capable to negotiate with the lenders? Those who do not recognize that there is a debt restructuring issue or us? Let the Greek people decide. ”

SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras also argued that the agreement signed by SYRIZA government was better than the one signed by the previous coalition government of Samaras – Venizelos.
