New startup, The Winston Club, offers travelers a chance to cut costs when booking hotel rooms. They get to stay at the best hotels for half the price, but there’s just one catch – they have to share the room with complete strangers.

The site says:

Winston Members will receive the best in service, amenities, location and pricing at over 12 premier hotels on the west coast.

For an optimal experience, all members are screened via video chat, share their interests and hobbies, and provide five forms of verification.
When members share their travel plans, Winston makes member-pairing recommendations and completes the booking for them.”

The club was created so that travelers could connect. The site claims to offer a safe, reliable and economic solution that gives a better travel experience than hostels or CouchSurfing.
