Greece ranked second following Spain in the list of destinations to visit alone this spring, according to travel dating website and app tourbar.com.
14.7% of UK members said that they were most likely to visit Spain alone this spring with the idea of meeting a companion to join them for the journey, as Travel Daily Media reports.
Following Spain’s lead was Greece, with 12% of UK members naming it their top solo destination. Continuing the short-haul travel theme, Italy came third (9.8%) for its designer shopping, cuisine and relative proximity to the UK.
Netherlands was the fourth most popular destination (7%) due to sightseeing opportunities and busy calendar of events and concerts., while the most popular long-haul destination for TourBar’s UK solo travellers this spring is the Dominican Republic (6.7%) with members reporting its beaches and sightseeing opportunities as the main reason they planned to visit. Staycations in the UK took the joint 6th position alongside Cyprus (6%).
