Tourist activity on Rhodes island remains robust, confirming initial estimates for a record tourist season.

According to data released by Rhodes “Diagoras” airport, 348,840 tourists arrived on charter flights last month, compared to 321,795 in June 2013, showing a 8.4% rise on a yearly basis.

Most visitors came from Russia (58,259 tourists), followed by British and Germans, whereas many Swedish prefer Rhodes for their holidays, too.

Despite the higher tourism inflow, however, restaurants and shops have not seen increased activity.
