The European Commission issued a series of new interpretative guidelines in a directive on aviation passenger rights in an effort to improve flight services offered to citizens and business. The clarifications add to existing regulations and concern compensations for delays and missed connecting flights. In addition, the term ‘extra ordinary’ incidents is better defined as a cause for delays and flight cancellations.
