Greek island cat shelter offering feline lovers’ dream job

Can you handle them?

Newsroom August 11 09:18

Cat lovers now have another reason to come to Greece, as a sanctuary on the island of Syros is offering a job to someone who can care for dozens of felines.

God’s Little People Cat Rescue posted the vacancy on social media and say the “very special position” is for a “mature and genuinely passionate cat lover”.

Set in the beautiful natural setting of the Aegean island, the lucky candidate will have to care for and medicate around 55 cats. The paid job begins in November with some volunteering before that.

The job comes with accommodation, water and electricity paid for and a minimum six months’ commitment is needed.

“You’ll no doubt thrive best if you are the type of person who appreciates nature and likes tranquility – and rest comfortably in your own company,” the ad reads. “That said, you’ll never feel lonely in the company of the cats and you’ll be expected to live with a small handful of cats in your house.”

Applicants are asked to send an application with a photo and relevant information to [email protected]
