Coronavirus Greece: The three stages of Plan B in case of a new outbreak

"We don't have the right to relax", Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday

Newsroom July 10 01:59

The Plan B to avoid an uncontrollable escalation of the coronavirus cases in Greece, after the 50 cases announced on Thursday, was the subject of a teleconference under Kyriakos Mitsotakis that took place at the Maximos Palace with the participation of four ministers, the head of National Defence General Stall, the leader of the Hellenic Police, the Coast Guard and the president of EODY.

This plan will be implemented in the event of a possible outbreak of the virus under the coordination of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection and with the participation of men and women from all security forces.

Its three stages provide:

1. Checks on all those who arrive in Greece from the border station of Promachonas.
2. Checks on seasonal workers in our country, mainly from neighboring Balkan countries.
3. Test for everyone, at all entrance gates in the country.

At the same time, the next 24-hour plan of extensive inspections will begin for the implementation of the measures to limit the spread of coronavirus in the country.

The battle, moreover, is being waged on two fronts: on the one hand, on the detection of any imported cases, and on the other hand, on the treatment of the loose implementation of the measures by some citizens.
