Eric Zemmour: No to the “pro-minority propaganda” in French schools

"For the last 40 years they have been brainwashing our children" Zemour told reporters

Newsroom January 10 10:03

French right wing candidate Eric Zemmour has spoken out against anti-racist and anti-homophobic groups in schools today, saying they are brainwashing students and calling for a return to a more conservative education system.

Zemmour, along with French right-wing leader Marine Le Pen and center-right candidate Valerie Pecres, is vying for a ticket to the second round of the April presidential election against President Emanuel Macron. Right now, polls put him in fourth place.

“For the last 40 years, they have been brainwashing our children”, Zemmour, told reporters. “Schools can not be the place where ideologies in favor of LGBTQI and anti-racism brainwash our children”.

Mitsotakis at meeting with farmers opens the way for meaningful dialogue on the future of the primary sector

The career journalist and political commentator, who emerged on the political scene this summer, said that children should wear an apron in elementary school, something that was common decades ago. As he stressed, he will restore a “certificate of studies” at the end of primary education, something that was withdrawn for no obvious reason more than 50 years ago.

Learning foreign languages, according to Zemmour, will also be withdrawn from primary education, so that children can focus on French and mathematics, while Greek and Latin will qualify for high school.

Zemmour, 63, opposes gay marriage and has said his candidacy for the presidency is aimed at “saving France” from decline.
