The Russian airstrikes are targetting the communications centres

Initial reports from the Ukrainian capital are speaking of 5 casualties after the Russian bombing campaign Kyiv started on Monday afternoon. According to sources, there is an unspecified number of wounded following an airstrike in the area around the TV tower in Kyiv.
Strong explosions have been heard for some time now in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

Based on initial reports from the theatre of war, broadcasting by channels of the networks in Kyiv has been interrupted.

The TV tower is located in the same neighbourhood as Babi Yar, a ravine where the Nazis killed more than 30,000 Jews in two days in 1941. The site is an important place of remembrance.

“These barbarians are slaughtering the victims of the Holocaust for the second time,” the head of Ukraine’s presidential Office Andriy Yermak, tweeted.

In a post on Facebook, in fact, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine confirms the attack, noting that for a while the TV channels will not work. He also adds that the backup transmission of some channels will be activated immediately.

“The enemy is attacking the capital! “The Kyiv TV tower was damaged by two rockets, according to initial reports.”
