The 7+1 villages of Rhodes you must visit

Medieval castles, ancient temples, farmsteads, bubbling springs, and verdant mountains

Newsroom October 19 05:13

Rhodes is not only the largest of the Dodecanese islands it is also the administrative capital. That Rhodes has been strategically important geographically is evident by the ancient settlements of Kamiros and Lindos huddling around elevated acropolis, the castles of Feraklos, Kritinia and the phenomenal Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights enclosed by impenetrable buttressed stone walls. There are also many areas of natural beauty such as the enchanting Butterfly Valley, the Seven Springs, Mt. Filerimos, and naturally, being an island, a variety of beautiful beaches.

Rhodes also boasts charming and offbeat villages hidden in valleys and spilling down mountainsides. Though architecturally they may not be as picture-perfect as their counterparts on other Aegean islands, they do manage to preserve customs and traditions that are fast disappearing in this fast-paced modern world.
