At 12:30 the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou welcomed the president of the New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the Presidential Palace. As required by the Constitution, she assigned him the first investigative order to form a government.

“A little while ago, Mr. Tasoulas gave me the results of the elections, we met so that I could provide you with the investigative order to form a government”, said the President of the Republic.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that in the afternoon he will return the exploratory order, as he said there are no conditions for the formation of a government.

It was preceded by the meeting that the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou had with the Speaker of the Parliament Konstantinos Tasoula, who informed her about the strength of the parties in the Parliament that resulted from the May 21 elections.
