Heraklion: Father and son arrested – They were hiding drugs in the roots of an olive tree

Their arrest was made during a police operation - They were a 67-year-old and a 39-year-old

The arrest of two men aged 67 and 39 years old in an area of the municipality of Phaistos in Heraklion for drugs was made by police officers of the Messara Police Operations Department.

Their arrest was made during a police operation, during which searches were carried out at the homes of the two men and in an open space, where 547 grams of cannabis, the sum of money of ten thousand seven hundred and thirty (10,730) euros, three precision scales, a shotgun, cartridges, a metal detector, nine mobile phones, knives and a private car as a means of committing criminal acts were found and seized.

In fact, according to creta24.gr, on Friday morning (15/3) during the operation of the ELAS, the father was found going to a lophyto located 500 meters from his house. There he was hiding the large amount of cannabis in the root of an olive tree. Also, the arrested persons are father and son.

The ELAS statement:

Arrested, today (15.03.2024) in the morning in an area of the Municipality of Phaistos, by officers of the Police Operations Department of Messara, two residents accused of violations of the Legislation on drugs and weapons.

In particular, in the context of targeted actions and special actions carried out by the Heraklion Police Directorate, to combat the possession and trafficking of drugs and after appropriate use of data by police officers of the Messara Police Operations Department, a coordinated police operation was organized and carried out by police officers of the above Service.

During the operation, searches were carried out at the homes of the residents, in an open space and in a private car, where they were found and seized in total:

-547 grams of cannabis,
-the sum of ten thousand seven hundred and thirty (10,730) euros,
-three (3) precision scales,
-three hundred and thirty-three thousand three hundred and fifty-three pieces of ammunition, -three hundred and fifty-three thousand three hundred and fifty-three pieces of ammunition, -a shotgun,
-pharmaceuticals,
-metal detector,
-nine (9) mobile phones,
-four (4) knives,
-Car as a means of committing criminal acts

The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Phaistos Police Department.
