Within five minutes they disposed of my daughter

Kyriaki's father requests the lifting of communications which involved police officers before and after the crime

Newsroom April 18 09:55

The father of Kyriaki Griva who was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend outside the Police Department of Agioi Anargyroi on April 1st, filed a lawsuit against police officers involved.

The lawsuit, which spans 13 pages,  entitled “Complaint against any responsible person and especially the police officers at the Agioi Anargyroi police station who were on duty 1/4/2024, from 22:00 until the end of the shift, as well as the operator at the Immediate Action center who spoke with my daughter Kyriaki Griva on 1/4/2024 at 22:15, and any other relevant police officer identified during the investigation or interrogation.”

In the lawsuit, Kyriaki’s father, according to Star expressed: “A policewoman was seen the moment my daughter exited the police station, having received indifference and mockery, coming out onto the balcony and making a phone call, with a clear view of the murder incident, and afterwards, seeing it from the balcony of the Police Department, but failing to react promptly. Apparently, for the police officer, her private conversations were more important that night than her duty.”

He continues: “Within five minutes, they ‘disposed’ of my daughter and referred her to call Immediate Action to send a patrol car, disregarding her safety, even though they knew she was in danger. They literally left her unprotected in front of her murderer, despite being obligated due to their profession to protect her. If my daughter didn’t want to file a complaint or wasn’t afraid, then why would she seek help from the authorities, especially at night?”

As his lawyer, Eleni Mazaraki, stated, the Police have not yet reached out to the two eyewitnesses who passed by the scene of the murder at the time it was committed: “His pain and anger are exacerbated, and of course, he wants the case to be clarified thoroughly from all angles. We call on the eyewitnesses (the two women) to contact him so that we can locate these two women and learn what exactly what happened with details that night.”

With his lawsuit, Kyriaki’s father seeks the lifting of communication for the involved police officers before and after the crime, as well as for forensic examination to be conducted on any video footage.

In addition to charges of duty violation, he also demands that the police officers be prosecuted for manslaughter due to negligence, fatal negligence, and failure to rescue from life-threatening danger.
