Nisyros: New complaints from minors about the archaeological guard accused of molesting a 10-year-old boy

A high school student revealed to his father his experience with the archaeological guard when he learned that there was an allegation against him - The archaeological guard has been suspended

Newsroom April 19 05:53

A 50-year-old museum keeper in Nisyros is reportedly facing fresh allegations of indecent assault, accused of showing pornographic material to a 10-year-old boy.

According to information from ERT South Aegean, one of the allegations concerns a 15-year-old high school student and was made by the student’s father.

In particular, the father complained that it all started when his son and other classmates went to the museum. The 50-year-old allegedly led them to a hostel where he was staying and showed them pornographic material while proceeding to “explain”, as the 15-year-old’s father said.

The incident took place earlier in 2024, but the student disclosed it to his father immediately after the allegation of indecent assault against the 10-year-old was made public last Monday, April 15.

However, yesterday, the guard claimed that the allegation against him was a trap.

A preliminary investigation has been ordered against him, and he has been suspended from duty by a decision of Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.
