Dramatic moment in the Port of Piraeus when a 71-year-old woman falls into sea chasing her suitcase

She was rescued safe and sound by members of the Coast Guard

A 71 year old woman fell into the sea area of the E-5 gate at the port of Piraeus and was rescued unharmed and in good health by members of the Coast Guard while trying to retrieve her suitcase.

According to the Coast Guard, the 71-year-old woman, who was a member of an excursion group that was about to board the passenger ferry “NISSOS Naxos” , heading to the catapult lost the suitcase she was holding and in her attempt to catch it she fell into the sea.

Subsequently, ambulance crews of the EKAB  and the PPA who arrived at the scene provided her with first aid.

The 71-year-old woman is in good health and stated that she did not require further medical attention and subsequently boarded the ship bound for Paros.
