A new case of a tourist who went missing after hiking on an island a few days after the tragedy involving BBC presenter Michael Mosley on Symi has caused alarm among authorities.

This time a 59-year-old retired American police officer is missing whose traces have been lost since Tuesday morning in Amorgos.

According to the complaint of his friend who informed the authorities, the 59-year-old started hiking from Aegiali through a marked trail with a final destination of Katapola.

According to the signs, this trail is traversed in about four hours with the 59-year-old starting his walk a few minutes after 7am on Tuesday morning. The 59-year-old’s friend who raised the alarm and informed the authorities, tried to contact the missing man at 3 pm on the two phone numbers he had, without getting any response.

According to reports, the 59-year-old’s last communication was with a message he sent to his sister at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday morning in which he sent a photo of the sign with the trail information.
