Seven plus one are the new deputy ministers entering, through the reshuffle, for the first time into Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ government. The new deputy ministers are as follows: 1. Kostas Yioulekas, Deputy Minister of Macedonia/Thrace 2. Vasilis Oikonomou, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure & Transport 3. Kostas Karagounis, Deputy Minister of Labor 4. Iason Fotilas, Deputy Minister of Culture 5. Katerina Papakosta, Deputy Minister of Family 6. Christos Kellas, Deputy Minister of Rural Development 7. Stefanos Gikas, Deputy Minister of Shipping It should be noted that among them, Mr. Yioulekas, Karagounis, and Gikas had voted against the law on same-sex civil partnerships.

Furthermore, Mr. Yioulekas and Karagounis are the two Members of Parliament who had served as deputy ministers in previous administrations before 2015. Newly appointed Deputy Minister: Georgios Mylonakis Another individual who is a new addition to the government is Georgios Mylonakis, who, transitioning from General Secretary at the Parliament, assumes the role of Deputy Minister under the Prime Minister and now belongs to the inner core of Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ associates.

“At the Maximos Mansion, the two departures of the previous months are filled by the addition of the long-time close associate of the Prime Minister, Georgios Mylonakis. This is a purely political choice, while Stelios Koutnatzis remains in his position as the Prime Minister’s General Secretary, with the same responsibilities,” earlier stated government sources.
