Approximately 15 people participated in the meeting from Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and Greece

Newsroom June 26 11:15

A summit meeting in Athens involving high-profile guests was disrupted yesterday, Tuesday (6/25), by EL.AS officials apprehended three individuals from Moldova, Ukraine, and Russia.

According to a report from protothema.gr, the Organized Crime police were recently tipped off about an upcoming meeting in Greece involving prominent criminal figures from abroad. Promptly, surveillance was initiated on the participants, leading to the meeting being held in Athens with approximately 15 attendees from Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, and Greece.

The purpose of the meeting remains unclear, though EL.AS officials suspect the participants were engaged in preparatory activities for serious criminal endeavors.

The intervention of Organized Crime units resulted in the arrest of three individuals from Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova. Of particular note is the Ukrainian suspect, who, according to EL.AS sources, are wanted in foreign countries for serious criminal charges, with a red notice issued by Russia for robberies and thefts.

The other two arrested individuals face charges related to crimes in Spain and violations of the Arms Act, respectively.

Investigators are currently examining the scope of the arrested individuals’ activities and their possible affiliations with international organizations such as Vor V Zakone.
