Turning Tides: Government Sees Price Drop in Supermarkets; Mitsotakis Optimistic

A study by IELKA shows that prices in supermarkets, across a wide range of products, are declining after months of increases

Newsroom July 5 06:50

Amid ongoing concerns over the cost of living, a recent IELKA (Consumer Goods Retail Research Institute) study has brought a glimmer of hope to the government, revealing a decline in supermarket prices across a wide range of products. The survey indicates that prices began easing in May following stringent pricing measures implemented earlier in March.

While cautiously acknowledging these positive developments, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed Eurogroup President Pascal Donohiou at Maximos Palace yesterday, emphasizing the significance of these reductions amidst persistent inflation, particularly in essential food items.
