Tania Tsanaklidou for 2 performances at Pallas Theatre “50 Kalokaria and Winters”

50 years of Tania

Newsroom July 23 06:30

After the triumphant sell-out at the Herodou Atticus Conservatory in July, a performance full of emotion and expensive songs, Tania Tsanaklidou renews her appointment with the Athenian audience on Sunday, September 22 and Monday, September 23 at the Pallas Theatre, in collaboration with the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, to present again the musical treasures of her 50-year discography. The performer who has “stamped” with her voice and sensitivity some of the most beloved songs of the contemporary Greek repertoire sets up 2 nights – a celebration, making a generous retrospective of those that defined and shaped her great career because, as she says, “We must celebrate the beautiful things in our lives”.
In the musical performance she has curated, the flow of the songs follows both the socio-political condition in which they were born and Tsanaklidou’s artistic pursuits over the years. And in this way, the period of the Junta and the post-communist period, the bouquets of Plaka, Nikos Xylouris and Christos Leontis will “converse on stage” with the passage from the Art Theatre and the State Theatre of Northern Greece, Yannis Spanos and Mormolis, Edith Piaf, Charlie Chaplin, Kraounakis, Michalis Delta, etc.

“I have been blessed for 50 years to be a singer” confesses Tsanaklidou and adds: “What you will see this year is an anthology of all the moments of my career. I’m going to connect them in some way to everything that was going on at the time.”

In September, at the beautiful Pallas Theatre, we will again see our beloved Tania dragging us into her musical world with her performance and her charming stage presence. Mark your calendars for these two rare performances with songs and feelings worth sharing!
